SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization” which is the process of getting traffic organically, direct, or through a referral link. If this process is doing good, search engines like Google.com will rank your website higher to show it in the top of the SERP.

5 Tips For Basic SEO Setup

I would start by advising you getting a domain that is related to your business, but there are many websites with domain names that mean something for the website owners. So here are my 5 tips for your website:

1. Page Title:

   Add your business keywords in the Page title of every page on your website. Make them unique, and descriptive to what the page content is about.

2. Text Headings:

   There are 6 types of headings in HTML (H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6) where H1 is the most important title, so make sure to have the main keywords mentioned in the H1 heading of your content and each page is better to have an H1.

3. Image ALT Text:

   Make all images names descriptive, for example if I have an image that shows something related to SEO, I will name the image seo_in_lebanon.jpg this will also make the image show in Google Search Images. Add the ALT text of your image same as your file name for example the image would be <img src=”…” alt=”SEO in Lebanon” />.
   Always pay attention to image size and it is preferable to save it on Photoshop by clicking on File then Save For Web or use online tools such as Compressor.io.

4. Page Link:

   Make sure the link of your page is also descriptive, for example if you have a page about Google Ads Management in Lebanon, make the link this way: /google-ads-management-in-lebanon/ The link structure is important for SEO.

5. Google My Business:

   If you have a physical store or office, you need to create an account with Google My Business so that the potential clients can find you easily on Google Maps, this is a part of the Local SEO. Go to https://business.google.com/ and access with your Gmail account and add your business details.
   In addition to be found on Google Maps, there are many others benefits to use Google My Business, like publishing posts about your products, offers, events and you can publish photos and videos. This content is indexed by the search bots and visitors coming from Google My Business are considered Organic Traffic.

6. One extra and important tip, Page Speed:

   I cannot stress this enough, Page Speed is a very important ranking factor.
   Google gave us a really cool tool called PageSpeed Insights, where you can check your website speed on Mobile and on Desktop, it will display some problems and insights for a better experience.
